William Campbell

William Campbell is the Vice President of Operations at Liberty Maritime Corporation and serves on the company’s Executive Management Committee. He has over 18 years of maritime, commercial and operational experience.

Prior to joining Liberty, Mr. Campbell sailed as a Licensed Deck Officer for 5 years aboard tankers, container-roro ships and cable/research vessels. He also has prior experience with NOAA as a civilian Field Operations Officer and was a NOAA Working Diver.

Since joining Liberty in 2002, Mr. Campbell held various positions in the Operations Department as ISM/Personnel Manager, Manager of Quality Systems, CSO, Risk Manager, Director of Insurance and Personnel and was formerly the Director of Commercial Operations.

His current responsibilities as the Vice President of Operations include Dry Bulk Chartering, U.S. Flag PL-480 Chartering and Food Aid Shipments, Commercial Operations, Risk Management, Insurance, Personnel and Labor Management. He oversees the company’s operations staff and ensures all vessels execute their charters efficiently and safely.

Mr. Campbell grew up on eastern Long Island and is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point with a major in Marine Transportation and minor in Marine Engineering. He is a Director on the Board of Trustees for the USMMA Sailing Foundation and also served as a United States Naval Reserve Officer for 13 years as a Lieutenant Commander.
